- I also just got MacPro for my Emplant. It seemed to install just fine. I
- did not encounter any problems. It seems to run just as well as 5.5. The
- only thing I find odd is that when I select 32bit memory then save the
- settings. Come back to the memory screen, it's back to pseudo 24bit. But
- when I run the Mac it seems just fine. In fact the memory program (Control
- Panels) does not complain, and lets me choose 32bit mode. Now, if I use a
- 1mb ROM image. Emplant complains that it could not find 32bit memory. Even
- though, I know all the memory I told it, is 32bit.
-
- Here's another odd one. In the memory settings of MacPro, there is a
- selection of "normal" memory "virtual" and maybe video memory. I'm not
- positive on these. But how do they work? Also, the data and inst cache are
- grayed out. Does this mean I don't have a MMU? As I was using
- HardLaunch_Mac, which I believe uses the MMU. Otherwise it should crash or
- do strange things. This did not happen with 5.5 . So I assumed I had a
- MMU. How can I test for this? Could this be the reason why I don't have VM
- working? MacPro says Virtual Memory is disabled. Thanks to anyone who has
- an idea.
